The following are excerpts from the Eunice Police Department radio dispatch logs. February 16 06:34 Disabled vehicle that possibly hit a dumpster in the 200 block of East Vine. 07:40 Simple burglary in the area of East Peach and North Cane. 07:54 Disturbance reported in the 600 block of West Dean.
Acadia Parish Sheriff’s detectives are requesting the public’s assistance with vehicle burglaries that occurred in the northern part of Acadia Parish.  During the late evening of Feb. 10 and early morning hours of Feb. 11, two suspects were captured on video surveillance entering unlocked vehicles in the East Ardoin and Perchville Road area of Acadia Parish. 3 dead in violent night here, area

Tuesday was violent night in St. Landry and Evangeline parishes. In Eunice, police were called to Acadian Medical Center at 8:40 p.m. about a gunshot victim. At 8:52 p.m. it was determined the gunshot victim was from an incident in Evangeline Parish.

Statewide burn ban issued due to concerning dry conditions

Due to the extremely dry conditions statewide and the overwhelming emergency responses recorded by local fire officials, State Fire Marshal H. “Butch” Browning, along with Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain, have issued a statewide cease and desist order for all private burning.
