Police chasing reports of gunshots, uncooperative suspects, victims

When asked about shots fired on Friday and Saturday, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot described a familiar problem of uncooperative suspects and victims. The first incident involved someone reporting a threat coming from a subject in a gray car at 12:39 a.m. Friday.

Carencro woman sentenced for defrauding her employer

Yvette L. Fontenot, 54, of Carencro, has been sentenced by U.S. District Judge Robert R. Summerhays to 14 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for using or trafficking in an unauthorized access device, according to a news release from Acting U.S. Attorney Alexander C.
