Carencro woman sentenced for defrauding her employer

Yvette L. Fontenot, 54, of Carencro, has been sentenced by U.S. District Judge Robert R. Summerhays to 14 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for using or trafficking in an unauthorized access device, according to a news release from Acting U.S. Attorney Alexander C.

Unknown pedestrian killed in St. Landry Parish crash

Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday, Louisiana State Police Troop I was notified of a crash involving a pedestrian on U.S. 71 near Roy Baker Road in St. Landry Parish. The crash claimed the life of an unidentified black female.
