The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. May 6 Timothy Tanner Viator, 33, 400 block of Carrington Place, Opelousas. Possession of Schedule II CDS, self mutilation by a prisoner, domestic abuse aggravated assault. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Eunice Police arrests

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. May 5 Floyd Lewis, 19, of the 500 block of Third Street, Mamou. Resisting an officer.

The following are excerpts from the Eunice Police Department radio dispatch logs. May 6 01:13 Caller in the 200 block of Camellia advised of a subject trying to break into his home. 01:52 Caller in the 400 block of Fruge advised that she hears someone outside of her home.

Shooting suspect

Eunice Police have identified the shooting suspect of the April 29 shooting that occurred near the intersection of S. 2nd Street and West Maple Ave. An arrest warrant has been issued for Brian K. “BK” Thomas, 19, of 1720 Kimbo Dr., Ville Platte.

Bystander among those killed in gang shooting

An innocent bystander was one of two victims in gang shooting spree on Wednesday at East Laurel Avenue and Nimitz Street, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said. Chris Jones, 58, of Eunice, died at the scene as he fell victim to what police say was a shooting between Eunice and Ville Platte gangs.

May 5 02:25 Caller in the 100 block of Park advised that someone is trying to break into her residence. 02:50 Suspicious vehicle reported nearby the Liberty Theater. 02:53 Suspicious person near Maple Avenue Pharmacy.

2 dead in Eunice shooting

Two people are dead after a shooting spree at about 7 p.m. Wednesday at East Laurel Avenue and Nimitz Street, according to Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot. Two people have been detained. They have not been identified. The victims have not been identified.

Tractor stolen in Acadia Parish

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the felony theft of a tractor that was stolen from the 1400 block of Riverside Road in the Evangeline Community at about 1:45 p.m. April 24. The stolen tractor is described as a 2007 John Deere 6715 with a front end loader and ditching blade.

Shots fired on South Mallet

At approximately 3:05 p.m. Tuesday police responded to a call saying that shots were fired. According to Police Chief Randy Fontenot, “We are thinking it’s our usual suspects from past incidents.
