St. Landry Parish jury convicts man of first-degree murder for killing girlfriend

An Opelousas man was convicted of first-degree murder for killing his girlfriend. According to St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre, John Edmond Jr. was found guilty by a jury that deliberated several hours on Friday. Edmond was arrested on March 23, 2018, for the death of Grace Noel.

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. May 18 Christopher Lacroix, 36, 100 block of Freedom Road, Scott. Possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule II CDS, possession of Schedule III CDS. Arrested by Opelousas Police.
