4th person arrested for January shooting

A fourth person was arrested for a drive-by shooting that occurred on Jan. 3. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said Frank James Dupre Jr., 23, of the 1100 block of North Vivian Avenue, Eunice, was arrested Thursday for attempted first-degree murder.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Office Arrests

Eunice, parish spared flooding

Despite heavy rain beginning Monday, Eunice and St. Landry Parish have been spared any major flooding Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot said up 5 inches of rain may have fell on Eunice since Monday, but problems have been minimal.

St. Landry Parish jury convicts man of first-degree murder for killing girlfriend

An Opelousas man was convicted of first-degree murder for killing his girlfriend. According to St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre, John Edmond Jr. was found guilty by a jury that deliberated several hours on Friday. Edmond was arrested on March 23, 2018, for the death of Grace Noel.
