Church Point man faces multiple charges after chase

A Church Point man faces multiple charges after leading Eunice City Marshal deputies on a chase Thursday. Chief Deputy Joey Peloquin attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Fuselier Street at about 10:30 a.m., but the vehicle failed to stop and pursuit ensued.

State Police urge caution during winter weather

The National Weather Service in Shreveport is monitoring a cold front, which may bring the possibility of wintry precipitation, as it passes through Louisiana. Beginning Sunday and continuing through Monday, a mixture of rain, freezing rain, ice, and/or snow is forecast to affect much of Louisiana.

St. Landry Parish Government preps for winter weather

St. Landry Parish Government is making plans for its response efforts during the upcoming winter weather early next week. Sandbags will be available in the barns behind the Yambilee Building, 1939 Landry Road, in Opelousas throughout the weekend for residents who need them.
