Did you know? Concealed handgun permit has duties

Once you have obtained the State of Louisiana Concealed Permit there are duties you must adhere to. The permit shall be retained by the permittee who shall immediately produce it upon the request of any law enforcement officer. Anyone who fails to do so shall be fined not more than $100.

Halloween wreck

The driver of one of two vehicles that collided at the intersection of U.S. 190 and 3rd Street at about 5:15 p.m. Thursday was taken to Acadian Medical Center for treatment of what Eunice Police said were moderate injuries, Police Randy Fontenot said.

Police say would-be burglary thwarted

The owners of Ruby’s Café beat Eunice Police to the scene of a burglar alarm that went off at about 2:45 a.m. Thursday, Police Chief Randy Fontenot said. When police arrived they found the owners, a vehicle wrecked into the rear of the restaurant and an injured suspect.
