Tips sought about trailer theft

The Mermentau Police Department is investigating the felony theft of a gooseneck trailer containing oil field casing from the Mermentau Bridge area between the night of July 27 and the following afternoon of July 28.

Basile Police receive grant

Basile received a $47,000 grant to help purchase public safety equipment and maintenance equipment. The USDA Rural Development grant was announced by U.S. Sen. John Kennedy.
