Wildfires down in past decade for various reasons

Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry has seen a drastic decrease in wildfires over the past decade for various reasons. According to records, LDAF firefighters battled and suppressed 1,638 wildfires in 2008. In 2018, LDAF firefighters suppressed 676 wildfires in Louisiana.

Driver dies from injuries in St. Landry Parish crash

At about 6 p.m. July 30 Louisiana State Police Troop I troopers began investigating a two-vehicle crash on La. 343 at La. 761 in St. Landry Parish that ultimately took the life of 21-year-old Colby Deemer of Carencro.

From the State Fire Marshal's Office Two men have been arrested for setting fire to a neighboring mobile home located in the trailer park they live in. Logan Bertrand, 21, and Carlos Juan Flores, 18, were booked into the St.

Deputy chief chases down burglar, then finds his home burglarized

Eunice Police Deputy Chief Richard Daigle’s trip home at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday was interrupted when he spotted a break-in occurring in the 300 block of Pearl. After a pursuit on foot, Daigle was able to catch one of the juvenile suspects. At 7:40 p.m.
