Former Eunice resident leads police on high-speed chase

A Eunice Police officer planned to stop the car and give the driver a warning for not having his headlights on, Police Chief Randy Fontenot said. Sunset occurs a few minutes after 5 p.m. and it was 5:30 p.m. Saturday when the officer attempted to make the stop at South East Street and U.S. 190.

Victim beats robbery Church Point suspect

Deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at 8:37 a.m. on Friday. The Nov. 17 incident occurred in the 100 block of Gayle Drive near Church Point. Thus far the investigation reveals that the suspect entered the residence armed with a shotgun.

Sugarcane harvest doing well at halfway point

Eunice man, 3 others, arrested on porn charges

Attorney General Jeff Landry’s Cyber Crime Unit has arrested four men, including a Eunice man, on nearly 250 counts of possessing child pornography. “Keeping Louisiana children safe is a top priority for my office, and we will continue doing all we can to stop child predators,” Landry said.
