Railroad crossing patrol planned today

Beginning at 7:30 a.m. today, Union Pacific railroad crossings in Eunice will be under intense scrutiny, Police Chief Randy Fontenot said. There will be an officer at each intersection and a locomotive will be pass back and forth through the city to trigger safety lights.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Nov. 15 Jose Ezequiel Rodriguez, 23, 400 block of Collins Road, Opelousas. Aggravated battery; simple criminal damage. Jerome Joseph Savoy, 43, 600 block of MLK Drive, Grand Coteau.
