Monday, Feb. 24 2:10 a.m. Caller in the 1000 block of North 2nd said he heard gun shots fired. 4:03 a.m. Caller in the 500 block of Acadian Village reported a disturbance in progress. 6:32 a.m. Caller in the area of 12th said a subject is walking his dog and heard a subject yelling. 6:40 a.m.

Man pistol-whipped in attempted dog robbery

Two Opelousas men are accused of pistol-whipping a man in attempt to rob a resident of his dog, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. Deputies responded to an unknown medical complaint on Nap Lane near Opelousas on Oct. 15.

Man charged with cyberstalking a nun

A 57-year-old Maryland man is charged with felony cyberstalking of a Catholic nun, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. Arrested was John William Modler Jr., 57, of the 3100 block of West Springs Drive, Ellicott, Maryland.

Sheriff: Cocaine valued at $133.8K seized in bust

A 64-year-old Opelousas man was busted with a variety of drugs including cocaine with an estimated street value of $133,800, according to St Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. St.
