Man pistol-whipped in attempted dog robbery

Two Opelousas men are accused of pistol-whipping a man in attempt to rob a resident of his dog, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. Deputies responded to an unknown medical complaint on Nap Lane near Opelousas on Oct. 15.

Man charged with cyberstalking a nun

A 57-year-old Maryland man is charged with felony cyberstalking of a Catholic nun, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. Arrested was John William Modler Jr., 57, of the 3100 block of West Springs Drive, Ellicott, Maryland.
