Eunice Rec to hold 2020 summer leagues

The city of Eunice has announced softball and baseball will return this summer to the Rec Complex. According to Eunice Rec director Robert Johnson, the plans are to hold the summer leagues for ages 4 to 14 with the games starting around June 15.

High school track competition had just begun when the COVID-19 pandemic forced a complete halt to the meets. Even without a chance to compete at their respective state track meets, their accomplishments in the classroom were recognized by the LHSAA as part of the Academic All-State honors.

Former LSU Eunice head girls basketball coach Michael Bari passed away Thursday morning in Alexandria from complications due to COVID-19. Bari, 58, served as the Lady Bengal head coach for nine seasons (2004-2013) and amassed a 154-113 record.
