Information sought about Roberts Cove Road burglary

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a residential burglary which occurred in the 5000 block of Roberts Cove Road between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Oct. 15, 2020. Entry was gained into the residence by kicking in a door. Once inside, two safes weighing 150 lbs.

Sheriff: Man charged with attempted murder in road rage incident

A Lafayette man is charged with four counts of attempted second-degree murder in what Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson called a road rage incident. Gibson said the incident occurred on Interstate 10 near Duson at about 11:30 a.m. March 19.

4 wounded in domestic incident

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Meadow Apartments near Crowley regarding a shooting incident at about 8:20 p.m. Thursday. During the investigation, it was discovered that four people had been shot.

2nd teen arrested in fatal Church Point shooting

A second teen has been arrested in the Nov. 3 shooting that left a 14-year-old Church Point boy dead. Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson said Cameron Lorenzo Byers, 16, of Church Point has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail. Byers is to stand trial as an adult, he said.

Tips sought about Acadia Parish burglary

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a residential burglary which occurred in 1000 block of Hetzel Road north of Crowley between 7 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. Nov. 4. An unknown suspect made entry by forcing open a door to the residence.

14-year-old boy killed in Church Point shooting

A 14-year-old boy is dead and an 18-year-old is in jail following a shooting in Church Point Tuesday night. Sheriff K.P. Gibson said the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Church Point Police conducted an investigation into the incident in the corporate limits of Church Point.

Tips sought in golf cart thefts

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the felony theft of three golf carts from Cajun Pines Golf Club, located on Golf Course Road in the Branch community on the night of July 26. Unknown suspects gained entry into the storage building and stole three golf carts.

Information sought about home invasion north of Crowley

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a home invasion that occurred at about 5 a.m. June 25 , in the 100 block of Paulette Lane, north of Crowley. The two suspects described as black males wearing hooded sweatshirts gained entry into the residence by kicking in a side door.
