LSU Eunice’s Student Government Association (SGA) approved a resolution to make Election Day, Nov. 3, a holiday on the Academic Calendar.

Lines formed for early voting in Eunice and Opelousas on Friday.
The Eunice poll at City Hall had a steady line of voters through the morning.
In Opelousas, a line formed at the courthouse door before the poll opened at 8 a.m.

More than 3,000 voters had requested absentee ballots in St. Landry as of last Friday and the count was rising, according to Cheryl Miburn, registrar of voters.
