Blue Jays set records, face tough Crusader contest

The St. Ed’s Blue Jay offense has set all sort of records in 2024. Last Friday night in a 61-0 win over Bolton Academy, it was the single-season record for team points scored with 448 in the nine games it’s played so far. The previous record holding team needed an extra three games to score 443.

Lady Cats await state playoff pairing

This season has just been everything the Eunice High Lady Cats volleyball program could ask for as it closes out the regular season and moves into the postseason. However, the Lady Cats will need to recover from a pair of setbacks as they turn onto the road to the state tournament.

For the first time all season, things didn’t go according to plan for the St. Ed’s Blue Jays. For the first time all season, things weren’t perfect. After a strong first half where the Jays led Catholic-Pointe Coupee by a 22-19 margin, the Hornets did the unthinkable in the second half.

Looks can be deceiving. With that being a cliché that’s been expounded over-and-over through the years, it’s one for a reason. Things aren’t always what they seem, and that’s the case for the Eunice Bobcats after last Friday’s 48-21 loss to the Iowa Yellow Jackets in District 3-4A play.

Lady Cats now 21-2 for season

Eunice High Lady Cats volleyball continues that surely has the chance to be a historic season for the program. Now 21-2 on the season, they continue to put away team after team. They’ve now won 20 games in a row. Beyond that, they’re getting better and better as they close out the regular season.
