Things have been rolling for St. Ed’s so far in 2024. The Blue Jays are 4-0 far this year, have scored over 200 points offensively and have given up less than 60 defensively. St. Ed’s key players have yet to be tested into the fourth quarter this season. It all looks tremendous on paper, and it is.

There are many names in the history of Eunice High athletics that spring to mind when thinking of the greats. Carl Jory likely isn’t one of the first ones to come to mind in 2024.

The 15-minute drive between Eunice and Prairie Ronde has been pretty kind to the Eunice Bobcats over the years. Before Friday night, Northwest and Eunice had played many times with the Raiders winning only once over the years.

All preseason it seemed like St. Ed’s was going to rely on the passing game. However, they proved us wrong in Friday’s 42-15 season-opening win over Elton in rushing for 235 yards while attempting only six passes.

The Eunice Bobcats lost 21-14 to the Northwest Raiders on Friday night to open the 2024 season. After a scoreless first half, the Raiders used a 14-point third quarter and a big performance from a former St. Ed’s running back to put it over the top.
