There are a lot of dads who coached their kids when they were young athletes.
But not many fathers get to stay next to their daughter all the way through high school softball.

It is a challenge to balance academics and athletics, but several local students have accomplished that feat.

St. Edmund senior Anna Belle Fontenot and junior Karleigh Soileau were named to the LSWA Class 1-A All-State list.
Here is the complete list for Class 1-A softball and baseball selections:

ALL-STATE CHARTS

Opelousas Catholic finished as LHSAA Division IV state runners-up and Catholic High of Pointe Coupee ended its season in the semifinals.
In that tough District 5-1A, St. Edmund went 4-0 and captured the district title.

The 2020 football season started with a limited eight game schedule and ended with the Bobcats advancing to the state quarterfinals with Andre Vige in his first season as head coach.
