It’s that time of year. The deciduous trees are putting on their leaves. The oaks and pines are producing copious amounts of pollen.
Fourth grade students in Annetta Papillion’s class at East Elementary has earned AR points in the reading program. Students were presented with AR ribbons, pencils and small prizes.
Sarah Kay Whitehead, with admissions at Northwestern State University, spoke with St. Edmund High juniors recently.
St. Edmund middle and high school students celebrated Grandparents Day recently. Grandparents had the opportunity and honor to attend Mass followed by a reception in the gymnasium. The St. Edmund PTC provided and hosted the reception.

St. Mathilda’s KPC Ladies Auxiliary held an Ash Wednesday fish dinner fundraiser. The lunch dinner plate included fish courtbouillon, rice, sweet peas, fried fish and a dessert. Donations of $8 were accepted.
February bears the unique distinction of being the only month on the calendar that does not always have the same number of days.
