Class Act Student of the Week

This week’s Student of the Week is Tyler Darbonne, a senior at Eunice High School. His parents are Kevin and Nikki Darbonne. If you had to live in another part of the world, where would you want to live and why? I would like to live in Florida because it doesn’t get cold there.

Birth Announcements

Elizabella Jackson Elizabeth and Troy Jackson announce the birth of their daughter, Elizabella Ann-Marie Jackson, born at Acadian Medical Center on March 4 weighing 6 pounds. She was welcomed home by Troy III, Troy’Varis, Elye, Troyce, and TroyKingston Jackson.

Clark at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by Chad Clark & The New Midnight Playboys. Admission is $5 at the door. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Starting at 10 a.m.

Daylight saving time throws off internal clock

This spring forward daylight saving time is definitely throwing me off. It’s good for longer daylight hours, but also seems to make a long day. I’m more tired when trying to retire for bedtime, and I feel tired it seems when I wake in the early morning.

Black History program at Eunice High School

Eunice High School held a Black history month program recently in the auditorium with a theme of “Black to The Future”. The idea for this year’s theme stemmed from the San Francisco Human Rights Commission initiative that promotes African-American community empowerment.
