A Black History program, ‘The Rise of Champions’

Eunice Junior High School was honored to have Dr. Alsan Bellard, a native of Eunice, as the guest speaker for the school’s Black history program themed, “The Rise of Champions,” held on Feb. 28. Some students performed with a choir, led by Damien Papillion and Brandon Delaphous.

St. Edmund High students compete at District Speech Rally

Iota High School Beta Club takes first place at State Beta Convention

The Iota High School BETA Club participated in a Group Talent competition at the State BETA Convention held in Baton Rouge on Feb. 7-8. They performed a six-minute rendition of “The Lion King.” There were 30 students that performed on the stage including vocalists, dancers and the color guard.

Cormier at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by Sheryl Cormier & Cajun Sound. Admission is $5 at the door. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Starting at 10 a.m.
