This week’s Student of the Week is Georrein Dupre, a senior at Eunice High School. His parents are T’nychi Hill and Donald Lawyer. If you had to live in another part of the world, where would you want to live and why? I would like to live in Brazil.

Are you lacking energy? There are many days I am lacking that “get up and go.” However, after reading the following, courtesy of Newspaper Metro, I have learned there are four foods that can help boost your energy levels. I’ll have to remind myself to try these types of foods.

Central Middle Josi Lemelle named Parish Student of the Year

Central Middle School announces that Josi Lemelle, fifth-grade Student of the Year, has earned the title of Student of the Year for St. Landry Parish, Elementary division. Lemelle is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chad Lemelle.

2017 Irving Awards dancers to perform Jan. 28

The Irving Awards dancers from Michelle’s School of Dance will perform during the annual Eunice Player’s Theatre Irving Awards on Jan. 28. The awards will be held at the Liberty beginning at 7 p.m. A cocktail hour, cash bar, will be provided between 6 and 7 p.m.

Birth Announcements

Cheyenne Elkins Kevin and Courtney Elkins of Eunice announce the birth of their daughter, Cheyenne Layne Elkins, born at Acadian Medical Center on Jan. 11 weighing 6 pounds and 1 ounce. Maternal grandparents are Lennie and Amanda Boulet of Eunice and Mary “Shelly” Fontenot of Walker.

‘Experimenting’ together, Central Middle and Eunice High

As part of Central Middle School’s “Navigating Futures’ learning and interacting experiences Central Middle School sixth-grade science classes traveled to Eunice High School’s senior physics class on Feb. 12 to learn more about science and physics.
