St. Edmund students were recognized after Mass last week and awarded with Young Christian for the fourth six-weeks.
There is much to look forward to when springs arrives. Daily hours of sunlight increase while temperatures continue to climb. Blooming flowers and leaves budding on trees also add some awe-inspiring color back into the landscape.
Black History Month was celebrated at Dreamers’ Land Daycare & Learning Center. The daycare celebrated, honored and recognized Manzy and Margie Thomas of Eunice.
As an extension of their art education class, third and fourth grade students at East Elementary were treated to a performance by the Acadiana Center for the Arts.
East Elementary was selected as the PBIS School of the Month in St. Landry Parish for the month of January. The school received a banner, framed certificate and pizza for all employees.

East Elementary’s fourth graders earned their way to a Mardi Gras party for reaching their AR goal. Students created a King Cake with doughnuts and homemade icing.
The 2022 Miss LSUE Pageant was held Thursday, Feb. 24. At right, Bettina Trumps of Crowley was crowned queen.
The sixth annual Parade of Paws parade was held Saturday at 3 p.m. on downtown South 2nd.
