School employee Christmas stipend tied to training

Payment of Christmas stipends will be tied to the successful completion of St. Landry Parish school district- and state-mandated training. The stipend is paid to full-time employees and long-term substitutes.

Early voting resumes on Monday

Early voting for the special election for the open judicial seat in the 27th Judicial Court District resumes on Monday. Voting began Saturday. The election also includes the presidential primary and Republican and Democratic party seats.

St. Francis School Night Out set March 16 St. Francis School will hold a Night Out Dinner & Auction from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, March 16 at the school’s gymnasium. It will be $100 per couple, donations will be accepted. There will be a live and silent auction, dinner and drinks.

The Louisiana Department of Education today named its 24 finalists for the 2024 Louisiana Students of the Year competition. The honorees include one 5th, 8th, and 12th grader from each of the state’s eight BESE regions.

St. Landry Parish project among DOTD projects

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced Tuesday that 17 projects around the state received bids in February. Ten contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $56.3 million.
