Miller, of Opelousas, is a Democrat and DeVillier, of Eunice, is a Republican.
But the two St. Landry Parish politicians were elected when Gov. John Bel Edwards, a Democrat, was governor.

Parish Council balks at gambling revenue change

The St. Landry Parish Council rejected on Wednesday night an ordinance proposal that would have provided the parish with increased slot machine revenues from Evangeline Downs Racino revenues in order to provide more discretionary annual funding.

Eunice High scores A in state assessment

Eunice High School maintained its A letter grade in the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) School and District Performance Scores for the 2024-2025 school year released Thursday.
The Eunice school is the only regular school in the parish to score and A on the assessment.

Clerk warns about deed scam

St. Landry Parish Clerk of Court Charles Jagneaux is warning the public about Recorded Deed Notice Scam being sent out to the public.
The scam begins with a letter urging property owners obtain a copy of their Property Assessment Profile.
