Eunice Airport included in $35.7M infrastructure funding

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana’s airports will receive $35,689,010 million in funding this year from his bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).

Christmas ham winners announced

The Eunice News Christmas Ham Giveaway winners have been drawn. The vouchers for the hams are to be picked up at The Eunice News, 465 Aymond St.. The office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. The office will be closed Dec. 24.

Eunice High gets its own newspaper

What turned out to be a Eunice High School junior student inquiring about a possibile new club is now a reality, and students named their newspaper, “The Eunice Chronicles.” The club sponsors are Therese Gianfala and Katie Fontenot.

Concealed permit class Saturday The St Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is hosting a one-day concealed carry permit training class at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at 211 W. Park Ave., Eunice. The course is $100 and $80 for a spouse or renewal.

Auditor: City finances are healthy

The city’ finances are healthy with a cash balance at the end of the audit year of about $900,000, said auditor Shirley Vigé Jr. at Tuesday’s Board of Aldermen meeting.

School Board ponders its presidency

Eunice street tax vote passes overwhelmingly
