Davy Crockett sent coonskins soaring

City Christmas Ornament Contest

The City of Eunice sponsored a Christmas Ornament Contest for all Eunice elementary and St. Edmund students to participate, and winners were announced Thursday.

What’s going on at the Liberty?

A love for the people, music and history of Eunice from a couple for Seattle, Washington, has been focused on the Liberty building. Paul Feavel and his wife Jean Johnson were guests at the Eunice Rotary Club meeting Wednesday. Feavel spoke about the Liberty building he purchased on Jan.

Christmas Parade rolls on Thursday

The Eunice Parade of Lights is to roll at 6 p.m. Thursday and promises to be a lighted parade event. The Eunice Parade of Lights is sponsored by the Eunice Chamber of Commerce and the Eunice Rotary Club.

Santa Claus to appear at the Eunice Depot Museum Saturday

Santa Claus will be on hand for all boys and girls from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at The Eunice Depot Museum located at 220 South Duson in Eunice. Judy Young, the museum hostess, will be reading children story books to all the kids during this time.

Rotary Club seeks nominees for its citizen award The Eunice Rotary Club is accepting nominations for the 2021 Citizen of the Year Award.

Sip and Stroll draws shoppers

The City of Eunice held its first ever Eunice Main Street Sip and Stroll event from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday. Many people were able to enjoy festive sips provided by Uncorked and Eunice’s local restaurants and bars as they strolled up and down South and North 2nd Street.

Coushatta Casino opens sports betting

By Tony Marks Ville Platte Gazette KINDER — With a tomahawk cutting a ceremonial red ribbon and the cutting of a cake, the new Rez Sportsbook opened at Coushatta Casino Resort on Dec. 1.
