Mold closes Eunice Junior High for October

A mold problem at Eunice Junior High School is closing the facility during October, according to a letter to parents from St. Landry Parish School Superintendent Patrick Jenkins. In a separate notice, it was announced the students would continue their education with virtual instruction.

St. Landry Parish Government announces several Delta recovery efforts

St. Landry Parish President Jessie Bellard announced several Hurricane Delta recovery efforts in the parish this week.

Some St. Landry Parish public schools to remain closed

Most St. Landry Parish public schools will restart on Wednesday, but some will remained closed in the wake of Hurricane Delta. All schools in the Northwest Zone will be open. These schools include Lawtell Elementary, Grand Prairie Elementary, Plaisance Elementary, and Northwest High School.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2020, in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for Kenneth Douglas Beaugh, 68, who passed away on October 11, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
