St. Landry Parish Sheriff Office reports arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. July 31 Janell Marie Thomas, 48, 700 block of W. Cherry Street, Opelousas. Violation of protective order. Arrested by Opelousas Police. David Wayne Guillory, 55, 500 block of Dulles Street, Eunice. Bench warrant.

MAMOU – Catholic funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 for Carol Guillory, 76, who passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020. Deacon Chuck Ortego will conduct funeral services. Burial will follow In the New St. Ann’s Cemetery.

Clifford B. Hallum

Clifford Hallum passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 at the age of 86. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with Reverend Burt Langley and Reverend Orville Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Rest Baptist Cemetery.

EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts that the son of Rena B. Dupre announces her passing on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Eunice Manor at the age of 92. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the St.

Charlene Richard Mass canceled The Annual Mass of Petition for Charlene Richard has been canceled due to COVID-19. Bonnie Broussard, president of the Charlene Richard Foundation, said, “Hopefully we will be able to have it next year.” The Mass was to be held Aug. 7 at St. Edwards Church in Richard.

School Board gets some good fiscal news

The St. Landry Parish School Board is expected to end its 2019-2020 fiscal year in the black. Tressa Miller, finance director, in a report to the Board’s Finance Committee on July 27, said the monthly general fund report shows a $369,000 loss, for the year. But that’s not the real bottom line.
