Lafayette man charged after body found near Washington

A 24-year-old Lafayette man has been arrested and charged in connection to a body found on La. 359 near Washington on April 2, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. The man charged is identified as Nicholas Aymond.

OMV to reopen phone lines for reinstatement assistance

The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) will reopen its Reinstatement Call Center on Monday. OMV closed on March 19 in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The Reinstatement Call Center will be staffed by 50 OMV employees statewide.

COVID-19 deaths, cases in St. Ladnry Parish continue to rise (updated)

Deaths from the coronavirus COVID-19 in St. Landry Parish rose to six as of the noon Friday update from the Louisiana Department of Health. On Wednesday, the death toll from the virus in St. Landry Parish was at four. The number of cases in St. Landry Parish was at 103, up from 86 on Wednesday.
