Governor closes K-12 public schools

Gov. John Bel Edwards ordered K-12 public schools to close effective Monday through April 13 and banned gatherings of more than 250 people. The orders in a proclamation announced Friday were made to slow the spread of Covid-19.

Dianna “Dee” Fuselier Kazmier passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 in Dallas Texas. She was born on April 7, 1934 in Oberlin, Louisiana, later moving to Eunice, Louisiana where she graduated high school and lived after retirement.

EUNICE~The family hearts are filled with sorrow as they announce the passing of their loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Rufus "R.C." Cosper on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Christus Ochsner St. Patrick in Lake Charles with loving family by his side. He was 79.

Bomb threat at Eunice Junior High School

Eunice Police are reporting a bomb threat was made on Eunice Junior High School. Students from junior high and Eunice Elementary we’re evacuated and have returned to their respective schools. Classes have been returned to normal activities. No injuries were reported during this incident.

Governor declares statewide pubic health emergency

Gov. John Bel Edwards said the number of presumed cases of COVID-19 in Louisiana increased to 13 on Wednesday from six a day earlier, with people testing positive in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Tammany, Iberia, Lafourche and Caddo parishes.
