The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. December 31 – January 2 Michael Dewayne Lucas, 59, 200 block of High Road, Forsyth, Georgia. Attempted first-degree murder, hold for Calhoun County, Florida. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.

2 of 36 guns stolen in Eunice burglary recovered

Two of the 32 pistols stolen in a burglary discovered Dec. 23 at Double Action on Maple Avenue have been recovered. Eunice Police Chief said both guns were recovered from juveniles in Opelousas. On Saturday, Opelousas Police stopped a person for a curfew violation and found one of the guns.
