Fees increased at Eunice meeting

Tribute planned Saturday for Gerry McGee

A tribute to legendary guitarist Gerry McGee is planned from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church on Park Avenue in Eunice. McGee, who grew up in Eunice, died while on a solo tour in Japan on Oct. 12. He was 81 years old.

2nd arrest made in Shell station shooting

Voting Saturday; more than 7,500 early ballots cast

There were 7,549 votes cast in early voting in St. Landry Parish ahead of Saturday’s election. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. That compares to 4,092 early votes cast in the November 2015 election — an 84% increase in early voting this year compared to four years ago.
