Kyle David Melancon passed away on Sunday, September, 8, 2019 at the age of 41. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September, 11, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice with Father Hampton Davis officiating. Burial will follow in St Paul Cemetery.

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. September 7 Kenneth Mark Boast, 51, 200 block of Bellanise Road, Port Barre. Bench warrant (2 counts). Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Linzie Storm Hanley, 25, 100 block of Leroy Brooks Road, Opelousas.

Darrel Wayne Reviere

Darrel Wayne Reviere passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the heart Hospital of Lafayette at age of 64. No services have been planned at this time. Darrel was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Reviere Daigle.

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. September 6 Anthony James Sias, 49, 300 block of E. Dean, Eunice. Serving time. Olajuwon James Gallow, 33, 200 block of Eula, Eunice. Possession with intent to distribute Schedule I CDS, Possession with intent to distribute Schedule II.

Hunters for the Hungry scheduled The Refinery Mission’s annual Hunters for the Hungry food drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 15. Local sportsmen and their families are encouraged to “clean out your freezers” and donate frozen processed game and fish from the 2018 season.

Voter registration at Eunice High School

The St. Landry Parish Registrar of Voters office conducted several voter registration sessions across the parish last week. At Eunice High School students registered outside the cafeteria on Thursday. Registrar employees seated at left are Charlene Chenier and, hidden, Cynthia Martin.

Mamou Cajun Music Fest swill honor Jason Frey

The Mamou Recreational Center Complex will once again host the Mamou Cajun Music Festival on Sept. 20 and 21. The 48th annual festival’s special honoree will be Jason Frey. The festival opens Friday at 7 p.m. with Lafayette Rhythm Devils. At 7:30 p.m.
