Paul J. DiCapo, a lifelong resident of St. Landry Parish, has announced he is a candidate for St. Landry Parish Sheriff in the Oct. 12 election. DiCapo, 58, is married to Katherine Richard DiCapo and they have three children and two grandchildren. DiCapo has 34 years of law enforcement experience.

Downtown mural refresh

The mural, located at Laurel Avenue and 2nd Street, is getting a facelift. Sterling Bourque with Bourque Painting and his crew are applying a fresh coat of paint on the background of the “Gateway Eunice Mural” and Bourque says they will touch up the mural image itself.
