Early voting resumes Monday for Eunice tax

Early voting continues Monday at the Eunice City Hall for the May 4 Eunice sales tax election. Eunice voters are asked to decide on a 0.25 percent sales tax to raise police and firefighter pay.

Sports betting favored in survey

Majorities of Louisiana residents support legalizing gambling on professional sports and possession of a small amount of marijuana for recreational use while opposing stricter gun laws, according to an LSU survey released Thursday.

More paving planned in parish Road Home

About 20 miles of paving is planned in a fourth phase of the Smooth Ride Home program in St. Landry Parish. A list of 28 roads was presented by Parish President Bill Fontenot at the Parish Council meeting on Wednesday.
