Power to be shut off Wednesday in Erath for repairs

ERATH — The Town of Erath will be without power early Wednesday. Mayor John Earl LeBlanc announced Monday afternoon that power will be shut off from midnight on Wednesday until 4 a.m. This will allow crews from Entergy to make repairs.

Halloween in Marksville returns to Courthouse Square after cancellation fears

There was some doubt for awhile, but the traditional “Trick or Treat Around the Square” is on for Halloween. The Marksville City Council was glad to hear the good tidings at its Sept. 12 meeting.

Juvenile arrested after Highland Elementary break-in

A break-in occurred about midnight Sept. 17 at Highland Elementary, but by 9 a.m. a 15-year-old male juvenile was arrested for the crime. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said a window was broken and door pried open at the school.
