Eunice artist to give a wall new life

As walls in Eunice go, the one on the southwest corner of the building at Walnut and 2nd streets is pretty much not unique. It’s dirty, chalky whitish with holes in it. The brick emerges through the paint in many places. There are rusty-looking vents and a door at one end.

Senate committee rejects bill to ban ‘lunch shaming’

The Senate Education Committee on Thursday voted 4-2 to reject a bill that would have prevented schools from punishing students with lunch debt even though the bill had easily passed the House earlier this month.

House rejects waterway bill

The House rejected a hotly debated bill Tuesday that would have opened up closed waters for public access and navigation. The bill, which failed 58-38, essentially would have allowed recreational fishermen to fish in some privately owned waters and waterways without fear of legal consequences.
