Keep Louisiana Beautiful shows new website

Keep Louisiana Beautiful held its regional meeting in Eunice at LSU Eunice campus on Wednesday at the Acadian Center. Donna Baltakis, director of Keep Eunice Beautiful, said it is the second time the city of Eunice served as the host for the event.

Prostitution charges have been filed in an arrest at a local massage parlor. Police Chief Carroll J. Stelly said officers executed a search warrant at Asian Spa Massage Parlor at 1405 The Boulevard at about 8:30 p.m. June 7.

Ditch debris linked to flooding

Alderwoman Germaine Simpson thinks clearing debris from ditches along city streets will help alleviate flooding problems. Simpson made that point during Tuesday’s Board of Aldermen meeting. “When we get 10 inches of rain we get a lot calls...” she said of flooding issues.

LSU AgCenter selects vendor for medical marijuana program

The LSU AgCenter has notified the Board of Supervisors of their intent to contract with GB Sciences, Inc., to produce a medical marijuana product for qualifying patients. GB Sciences will work under the LSU AgCenter license in compliance with state law and rules established by regulatory agencies.
