Shooting investigation continues in Eunice

A gun battle in Eunice that started about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at La. 13 and Maple Avenue is a continuation of shootings that occurred a week ago, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.

Governor, legislators gather to pray in wake of shooting that wounded Rep. Scalise

After news broke that U.S. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana was shot in the hip early Wednesday morning while practicing in a Virginia park for a charity baseball game later this week, the Louisiana Legislature and governor began their day gathered in prayer in the Capitol Rotunda.

Properties are to be repaired or condemned

Eunice aldermen drew the line for three properties in the city to either be repaired or demolished at a meeting Tuesday at the Eunice Municipal Complex.
