By Bobby Ardoin Eunice News Correspondent St. Landry Parish school officials have agreed to convene at some point into a fiscal retreat in order to obtain a clearer understanding of the overall District budgetary process. Board members approved the retreat concept during a regular meeting last Thursday, but failed to agree on specific details that included when the retreat will be held and whether one session is necessary. The Bayou Animal Rescue Krewe of Lake Charles mobile unit was parked at the Northwest Community Center pavilion Tuesday morning to provide free clinical services for ferals (cats with no owners or strays). Dr. Joe Stark performed vaccinations and other preventive small surgeries on the furry ferals. Lisa Primeaux with The Bayou Animal Rescue Krewe of Lake Charles said 40 cats and one dog were spayed or neutered at the event. Primeaux said she hopes that the mobile will be in Eunice once a month.
