24 months of accomplishments

Speaker of the Louisiana House of Representatives Phillip DeVillier shared two years worth of local and state updates with the Eunice Rotary Club during its meeting on Wednesday. DeVillier said, “... for the last two years ... since being speaker, I’ve toured the State of Louisiana multiple times.

The Eunice Mayor and Board of Aldermen and Alderwomen breezed through a routine agenda during the regular board meeting on Feb. 10. Early in the meeting, Mayor Scott Fontenot recommended that Alderman Randall Reed be appointed Mayor Pro-Tem for 2026.

Kenneth Ray Fontenot, age 71, was born on October 5, 1954, and passed away on January 29, 2026. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father John Dugas serving as Celebrant. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
