Bulb & Blossom meeting set March 5 The Bulb & Blossom Garden Club of Eunice will hold its next meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5 at the home of Fran Guillory. Refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m. following by a meeting at 6 p.m.

Courtney Fruge promoted to HR manager at LSUE

LSU Eunice announced that Courtney Fruge has been elevated to serve as human resources manager. Fruge is a familiar face on campus, having worked at LSUE starting in 2014. Fruge serves as executive assistant to the chancellor, a post she has held for four years.

Men charged with abducting, raping woman on Mardi Gras

Three men are accused of abducting a 19-year-old woman from a Mardi Gras street dance in Mamou, drugging and raping her. Mamou Police rescued the woman. The men charged are Martinez Coucek Gallow, 45, of Mamou, Darryl Washington Jr., 44, of Ville Platte, and Louis Alfred, 45, of Ville Platte.
