Eunice city meeting reset for Thursday

The mayor and Eunice Board of Aldermen meeting will be held Thursday instead of Tuesday due to the Mardi Gras holiday. Mayor Scott Fontenot held an agenda-setting meeting on Thursday and noted the meeting will begin with a 6:15 p.m.

Parish Council ponders litter solutions

Two St. Landry Parish Council committees returned to deliberating on how to stop littering. The littering is an embarrassment to the parish, said Council member Ken Marks, who said there is need to bring different entities together to address littering.

License plate-reading cameras are in operation in Eunice, announced Eunice Police Chief Kyle LeBouef. The police chief didn’t want to disclose where the cameras are located, but they are working 24-7, 365 days now.
