Sheriff’s detective found container leading to manslaughter conviction

A St. Landry Parish jury found an Opelousas man, Dewayne F. Poullard, Jr., 28, guilty of manslaughter on Friday for the shooting death of Chance Greene, also from Opelousas.  Evidence at trial revealed that in December of 2019, Poullard shot the victim twice in the torso with a .

3-vehicle fatality crash claims Carencro man’s life 

 Shortly after 6 a.m. Friday, Louisiana State Police Troop I was notified of a three-vehicle fatal crash on Interstate 49, just south of North University Avenue, in Lafayette Parish. The crash claimed the life of 58-year-old Artie Gunnells of Carencro.
