Woman wounded in drive-by shooting outside Eunice

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz is confirming that at about 6 a.m. Jan. 30 at a 911 call in reference to a female subject who had been shot in the face during an apparent drive -by shooting.  The location of the shooting was the 100 block of La. 29 just outside the city of Eunice.

Cankton Courir de Mardi Gras set Feb. 10

The fourth annual Crew of Cankton Courir De Mardi Gras will be held on Feb. 10 at Landon Pitre Memorial Park, 692 Main St., Cankton. Entry fee is $5 per person at the gate. A gumbo cook-off starts at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $60 per team. Judging is at 1:30 p.m.
