Michael Allen Pierce passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the age of 74. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Weston Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

La. Swine Festival Association elects officers

The La. Swine Festival Association met on Jan. 22 for its annual election of officers and board members while reflecting on last year’s festival and planning for the future.

5-day Cajun Mardi Gras Festival opens Friday

From demonstrations on cooking gumbo, live entertainment for five days to a final frenzy of bead-catching, the Eunice Cajun Mardi Festival opens on Friday on South 2nd Street. Eunice native Army pilot, Bryant Fontenot, earns honors
