The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Tuesday, Dec. 12 Alex Soileau, 26, 9100 block of Highway 182, Opelousas. Second degree robbery. Arrested by Opelousas Police. Gitano King, 31, 1600 block of Meredith Street, Opelousas. Domestic abuse battery.

Pamela Cuccio Fontenot

Pamela Cuccio Fontenot passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023 at the age of 69. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Grand jury indicts man for killing

The St. Landry Parish Grand Jury convened and returned a true bill on Friday for the homicide of Andrew Wilson on Oct. 21, according to a news release from District Attorney Chad Pitre.

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Saturday, Dec. 9-Monday, Dec. 11 Kenjelskey Kendrell Jones, 28, 200 block of W. Coleman Street, Opelousas.

Unrestrained Iota driver killed in Lafayette Parish crash

Shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday, Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a serious injury single-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 about 3 miles east of La. 95. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 40-year-old Nina Hayes of Iota.

Santa Story Hour Wednesday The Eunice Public Library will have a Santa Story Hour at 10 a.m. Dec. 13 on the children’s floor. There will be pictures with Santa, Story telling, Sign Language, songs, Holiday craft and treats.
