A fire destroyed a house at 227 McManus Road at 11:40 a.m. Sunday. The home, located in Acadia Parish off of La. 13 South of Eunice, was determined a total loss.

Auditor: City finances are healthy

A suspect in the shooting death of Bethany Walters pleaded guilty to negligent homicide on Monday, according to a news release from St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre.
